Hotel Snapshot
Overlooking the Douro River from a perch across Porto’s historic old town, guests will revel in the wonder that is the birthplace of Port’s newest hotel, Forte de Gaia, Autograph Collection.
Formerly The Lodge Porto, the hotel has been reimagined, now combining contemporary sophistication with authentic local heritage.
The hotel embraces its mission to celebrate Porto’s wine culture, architectural beauty, and riverside charm while delivering tailored experiences to discerning travelers.
Design & Character
Portuguese interior designer Nini Andrade Silva approached the property renovation with a vision that fuses minimalist elegance with bold, sculptural forms.
Voluminous interiors, clean lines, and warm, wine-inspired tones evoke the Douro terroirs while avoiding clichés. Custom materials, local artisanal touches, and vertical gardens frame every perspective, creating spaces that feel both intimate and expansive.
The Rooms
With 119 rooms–including five suites and two two-story Signature Suites–a constant is that all guest accommodations are defined by comfort, refinement, and striking river views.
Deluxe Rooms span 26 square meters, with plush beds, white marble bathrooms, and L’Occitane amenities. Many offer private lounge areas opening to the pool or gym, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
Signature Suites, spread across two floors, are true immersive retreats for those seeking a sense of understated glamour.
