Hotel Snapshot
Set above the breathtaking Karavostasi Beach, Elix by Mar-Bella Collection immerses guests in the Grecian wild. On one side, lush towering pines create a barrier between you and the rest of the island, but on the other, sweeping Ionian Sea views remain completely uninterrupted. This one-Michelin-key property invites guests to unplug and explore the natural playground that’s just steps away, while design-forward accommodations create a stylish home base in between activities.
Design & Character
The hotel’s terraced construction on a scenic hilltop ensures epic views no matter where you are. Natural elements like pine wood, hand-carved stone, and marble take center stage across the property, while neutral tones pay homage to the surrounding landscape. From the moment you set foot in the hotel, it’s obvious that Elix has mastered the fine art of blending modernity with timelessness, but when you’ve got some of the most stunning outlooks in all of Greece, there’s not much else you need to do. In the reception area, sky-high, vaulted ceilings create a dramatic welcome, while a spa-like signature scent wafts through air, reminding you that you've embarked on what can only be described as a true vacation from the realities of life. Though Elix is anchored in an earthy color palette, you’ll find vibrant shades of red and pink across artisanal tapestries and pillows.
The Rooms
All 146 rooms and suites boast sweeping sea views from a private balcony or terrace. Thoughtful curation is most apparent across the statement-making woven headboards and patterned pillows that add a pop of color, but if you can splurge on one of the many rooms with a private outdoor plunge pool, you won’t regret it. Though the accommodations lean contemporary, they are still anchored in a sense of Greek nostalgia and avoid feeling too buttoned up. Floor-to-almost-ceiling windows let in an ample amount of natural light each morning, brightening up the mostly neutral and dark grey tones that anchor the space. Plaster walls and marble finishes in the bathroom feel a bit more elegant, and while the standard setup features a walk-in shower, some rooms also house deep-set soaking tubs (all of which are Meredith Marks-approved).
The Food & Drink
There are a handful of different on-site dining concepts at Elix, and their premium all-inclusive offering is great if you plan to spend most of your time at the hotel. Saffron is a chic little all-day dining spot that serves buffet-style Greek food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Elix’s fine dining option is Pearl, which offers a multi-course experience with an excellent wine pairing that’s best enjoyed during sunset. Since the resort is pretty family-friendly, Elix hosts an adults-only à la carte breakfast at Indigo, along with light lunch options and an Italian dinner service. Come June 2026, child-free adults will be able to escape to the Level 10 lounge for bar bites and beverages. Finally, if you’re looking to drink or dine by the beach, pop by outdoor Azure for sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and craft cocktails. You’ll also be treated to live musical performances every night during high season.
The Amenities
Though your odds of getting a room with a private plunge pool are pretty high, you’ll definitely want to spend some time lounging at the shared infinity pool. It sits in one of the most picturesque parts of the cascading cliff, offering a mix of forest, ocean, and vista views. In addition to hiking around the island or hitting the white sandy beaches, Elix also offers plenty of outdoor fitness and wellness experiences. The brand new yoga deck is the ultimate place to squeeze in a few sun salutations, and if you’re hoping to improve your backhand, take a lesson from one of the pros at the on-site tennis academy. There is also a state-of-the-art fitness center with a variety of machines and equipment, but if you prefer a group class, check out their weekly programming. The small spa uses French brand SOTHYS across its treatments, and just down on the main beach, you can rent kayaks, paddleboards, or opt for something more intense like wakeboarding or water skiing.
Location & Neighborhood Recs
One of Elix’s main draws is its sense of privacy and isolation on the Ionian coast. However, the hotel can chauffeur you to nearby towns like Perdika should you want to enjoy a more locally-driven experience. I recommend spending at least one day adventuring around the island, visiting local shops, taverns, and villages, or taking a water transport over to Corfu.
