Set inside a discreet building on a residential block of Calle Zamora, Hotel Dama is an effortless hideaway in a reimagined 1940s townhouse in Mexico City’s lively Condesa neighborhood. The only tells of the charming overnight hiding inside are the buzzer and a small placard that reads “Dama.” Once guests enter, the quiet sense of cool and local character reveals itself.
Design & Character
Hotel Dama is stylish in a way that doesn’t feel overrehearsed or like too try-hard. The lobby-meets-sunken lounge is decorated with wood, midcentury furnishings, and open bookshelves full of local ceramics, prints, and on-brand creative tomes. It’s a chill spot to sip your welcome drink or flip through a book of local photographs. Though the communal space where guests will spend the most time is the sunny rooftop terrace, complete with tables and corset-laced chairs, leafy plants, and an intimate vibe reflective of the hotel itself.
The Rooms
The rooms are well-sized and wonderfully quiet for a boutique hotel in one of the city’s buzziest areas. Black and white checked tile floors and sculpted furnishings add soulful style. The beds are plush. The generous built-in wardrobes provide a clever solution to unpack clothes and tuck away luggage. Bathrooms feature marble and large showers. Some categories even have private terraces. It all feels contemporary and calm, but without falling into the hollow Scandi trap.
Food & Drink
The vibey rooftop serves breakfast with favorites like chilaquiles and passion fruit-infused overnight oats. There’s an all-day menu of guacamole and tacos (slow-cooked beef and confited pork jowl are both excellent). The cocktails hit the mark, too. The Margarita Dama — a mix of mezcal, tequila, pineapple juice, lime, and jalapeño-ciliantro syrup — is almost too easy to slog back.
Amenities
Guests are treated with a welcome drink — a margarita, of course. And should jet lag make the thought of sipping a tequila-spiked tipple not entirely appealing, rest assured, it’s up for grabs at any point during your stay. While Mexico City has a well-deserved reputation as a foodie destination with a vibrant nightlife scene, sometimes vacation calls for a quiet night complete with a cocktail in a cozy robe — so it’s nice that room service is available.
Spa & Wellness Scoop
While there’s no spa or fitness center, Columna Pilates Condesa and OMM by oma for massages are close by.
Location & Neighborhood Recs
Hotel Dama is conveniently located in Condesa, where you’re never far from something tasty to eat or drink — and, equally inevitable, a lively scene. It’s a short walk to Esquina Común for chef Ana Dolore’s creative tasting menus, Baldío for zero-waste cooking, and Castacán for some of the best carnitas tacos in the city.
