Sublime Comporta, the barefoot eco-luxury retreat that put Comporta on the map for caftan-wearing tastemakers over a decade ago, debuted a new concept in May.  Surrounded by rice fields and fragrant pine forests, Sublime Sand channels the same nature-focused philosophy as the original while placing an emphasis on families and groups. Guests can expect laid-back luxury where kiddos can run around barefoot without judgmental stares, spacious multi-bedroom villa accommodations, and stylish communal spaces that encourage both connection and downtime.

Design & Character

Sublime Sand reflects a minimalist, nature-driven design ethos, grounded in the beauty of the coastal Alentejo, a region known for its cork pines and windswept shores. The main buildings sit neatly around a courtyard, while the villas are spread across the expansive, tree-studded grounds. Interiors blend light wood and cement floors, and crisp white finishes are the defining choices, creating a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

The Rooms

Sublime Sand offers 43 spacious villas intentionally designed with groups in mind, ranging from one to four bedrooms. Each accommodation has its own private pool for endless games, splash fights, and swim races without disturbing other guests, as well as an indoor-outdoor fireplace that straddles the glass walls between the terrace and the living room. The bathrooms have soaking tubs (ideal for relaxing after a day at the beach and for bathing kids), stand-alone showers, and eco-friendly toiletries. Fully equipped kitchens are perfect for stocking snacks and beverages for the whole crew.

Food & Drink

Guests have plenty of dining and drinks options at Sublime Sand, including Davvero, the celebrated Italian restaurant from Sublime Lisboa. Davvero Blu is a more casual al fresco choice for poolside pizza lunches. The property also boasts the Comporta debut of Beefbar, the swank (you guessed it) beef-forward spot born in Monte-Carlo, and a café for espressos and flaky croissants. Across the road, Sublime Comporta hosts Sem Porta, Food Circle, and Canalha.

Amenities

Sublime Sand is a boutique resort created for lingering—whether between beach days or trips into the village. The property boasts both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a stylish boutique, and complimentary bicycles for exploring the forested trails. One of its standout assets is the kids’ club, a design-led space that’s thoughtfully scaled for children. Gen Alpha will appreciate the toys, games, and crafts. There’s also an outdoor terrace with an herb garden, a playground, a kid-sized pool, and a lawn for soccer and basketball. Parents who have taken full advantage of childcare can let loose at Ruína, Comporta’s first nightclub.
